HELLO PHONE

HELLO PHONE

The Hello Phone project was my first exploration into 3D design, focused on creating an advertisement within a fully built digital environment. Starting with an existing Hello Kitty phone, I transformed a familiar object into something unexpected and character-like through animation and storytelling. This project became a key learning curve, where I developed foundational skills in modelling, rigging, lighting, and camera work.

I began the process by sketching out a storyboard to plan the sequence of scenes and structure the flow of the advertisement. This helped define key moments early on and guided the transition into 3D production.

This model was built from scratch in Blender using reference images to guide proportions and form. I developed the full geometry and materials myself, focusing on achieving a soft, glossy, toy-like finish that fits the project’s aesthetic. The model was later rigged to allow for animation, forming the basis for movement and character within the final advertisement.

The model was rigged to enable movement and animation, using an armature system combined with inverse kinematics to achieve a stable walking motion. Drivers were implemented to link the movement of the legs to a central control object, allowing the phone to automatically walk when the control box is moved. This setup streamlined the animation process, making the movement more efficient, consistent, and easy to control.
